Porth Wen
Porth Wen is also known as Brickworks bay, for rather obvious reasons.
It is a small semicircular bay between the headlands of Torllwyn and Trywn Bychan. The tide runs strongly past the entrance. There is a ruined stone quay which fronts the old brickworks and a fine natural archway by an outjutting rock on the west side of the bay.
A lovely bay with no road access, a fine place to stop, row ashore and explore the brickworks. Either side of the brickworks there are small pebbly beaches, elsewhere the shore is rocky.
Anchorage: The anchorage is sheltered from east through south to west. Anchor on the west side, the east side is encumbered by drying rocks, and in line between the brickworks and a house on the east side. Watch out for lobster pots.
